Hi

Can someone advise me please before I am evicted :).... ach time I flush the toilet and the point of it being full of water again the pipes vibrate loudly! If I were to put on the cold water tap it stops. It's getting quite bad now as I don't know what to do.

From the diagrams I've seen it is apparently the ball valve bit (white bit on top where the water comes out to fill the cistern tank back up and the bit that reaches inside of cistern too. Any ideas??

Hi we have the top flush cistern on the incoming mains cold water. It started to constantly flush so my son took the top off and jammed the cistern. How do I reconnect it, after switching off the incoming m.c.w. please.

when the toilet is flushed and the cistern starts to fill with water, it sounds like like a mooing cow, very funny (esp with guests cos I don't tell them about it) BUT the noise is now getting on my nerves.

Our cistern makes a really loud humming noise when it is refilling and it takes ages to fill up again. It stops whenyou move float lever around a bit, it's almost as its something vibrating on the pipes - any ideas please ?

Hi Ruby

The washer on the inlet pipe needs to be checked / changed and with the use of some plumbers mate around the thread should solve the problem.

Kind regards

Hi Angie,

If there is nothing stopping the float on the inlet valve working freely and stopping the flow when the water has reached its level then I would check the seal on the syphon as this may need cleaning or replacing.

Kind regards
Victoria Plumb

Hi we have a leak from our toilet it only leaks when the water is turned on, we have had the cistern full of water and watched for leaks with the water turned off and there are no leaks, we have tightened all the screws, bolts etc and cannot feel water running from any where. can it be the water pressure being too high that causes the leak? we think it may be coming from the inlet pipe?

Sounds like the filling arm could have a blockage inside or could be faulty.
