Hot Tub Cleaning page 5
RATING: EASY
- Keeping the hose at or near water
level to avoid draining the water from
it, slide the hose through the skimmer
opening and into the skimmer. Attach
the hose to the skimmer's suction port.
The hose and vacuum head now have suction.
- Vacuuming a hot tub is no different
from vacuuming your carpet. Work your
way around the bottom and sides of the hot tub, but avoid moving the vacuum
head too quickly. You will stir up the
dirt rather than suck it into the vacuum.
- When finished, position yourself
near the skimmer and remove the vacuum
head from the water. The suction will
pull the water rapidly from the hose.
Be prepared to pull the hose off of
the skimmer suction port before the
air reaches there; otherwise, you will
lose prime. You can also let the vacuum
run for a minute after you finish to
make sure the hose contains clean water;
then remove the hose from the skimmer
suction port and drain the water from
the hose back into the hot tub.
- Remove your equipment from the hot
tub. Check the pump strainer basket
and filter to see if they have become
clogged with debris from vacuuming.
Clean as needed. Replace the skimmer
basket.
- Vacuum with the hot tub Vac:
If the hot tub is littered with leaves
or other heavy debris, you may need to
use the hot tub vac instead (or the hot
tub vac for heavy debris, followed by
the vacuum to filter to capture the finer
dirt).
