Hot Tub Heaters
Electric-Fuelled Hot Tub Heaters
Electric-fuelled heaters are built as stand-alone units with a similar appearance and control circuit as their gas-fuelled counterparts. On small portable hot tubs, the heater is mounted to other equipment in a skid pack with controls that are integrated into the solid-state control panel which manages all the other hot tub equipment.
Water flows into the element tank and is heated by the element. As you can see, this heater is served by the same control circuit components as gas-fuelled models are.
The smaller versions of electric-fuelled heaters employ the same components, but without a separate cabinet for the heater. The element tank with the electric hot tub heating element will be mounted as part of the system plumbing, directly after the pump. As described throughout the book, the water usually flows from the pump to a hot tub filter and then to the heater; but in portable hot tubs, the hot tub filter is located in the skimmer, right inside the hot tub itself, so the water entering the pump has already been cleansed. |
