Unions

When you need to repair or replace a hot tubs pump, hot tubs filter or other hot tub equipment that is plumbed into the hot tub system, you must usually cut out the plumbing replumb upon reinstallation. The concept of the union is that hen you remove a particular piece of equipment, you need only 1.11:1screw the plumbing and reinstall it later in the same, simple way.

Although unions add a few dollars to your initial installation, they allow you to easily remove and replace equipment without doing any new plumbing. Unions, like other plumbing, are made of PVC plastic in standard diameters and are adapted to plumbing as any other comrnent (glue or threaded).

Unions are made for direct adaptation to hot tub equipment, where the pe with the nut and female shoulder is male-threaded at its other end for direct attachment to the pump, filter, or any other female threaded equipment. Then, only the male shoulder need be added to e next pipe, and the piece of equipment can be simply screwed into place.
